There they were, laughing in the rain. As she stood there ; holding the gate wide open. They all had umbrellas. Rainbow coloured, big, bright and happy. She had none ; drenched in the rain. Not a single word of thanks. Fools.
She trudged home ; slipped. Scratches on her nails, cuts on her toes. Bleeding away. She sees them ; doesn't feel the pain.
Back home ; she stares at the mirror. Mocks at her bloodshot eyes and the tears come back.
It wasn't meant to be this way. Now she can't breathe again.
